Hi again,
Today is one of those days where I feel that very little is positive and it makes it hard to find something to be thankful for. I wonder why I do this on days like today because I had hoped it would help me get through days like today... maybe it sort of does but some days just stink and finding something new to be thankful for on a day like today feels practically impossible. So I am picking something that is possibly not that good or similar to another post but it is all I can come up with. So I am thankful for free dessert because today (possibly the best part of today) I went with my mom to use another birthday week coupon for free dessert from Tony Romas. It was very good and we enjoyed the time together. We possibly ate too much because we did feel kind of yucky after but that is ok. It tasted really good and was nice to have it free. thanks for reading my blog.
I am beginning a project where I find something to be thankful for each day for one year. Please join me in my journey!

Day 162: Mud!!!!
Hi again,
Today I am thankful for MUD!!! Amazing mud!!! The snow is melting and the ground is starting to show through and thaw out and we are getting mud!! After all the months of snow and ice it is so amazing to see mud! I am so thankful for mud because that means the snow is melting and spring is coming!!! I know it will still likely snow and we are not done with winter but the sun is getting stronger and snow is melting faster and the ground is showing through! Of course it is only the driveway so far and everywhere else is under a ton of snow but that is ok because it won't be so long now! I was attempting to walk where the lawn is normally and I was trudging through knee deep snow which is not so easy so I turned around. Eventually the snow will be gone and the ground will be visible and grass will start growing.... I wish it was already but it will come. The sight of mud is a good sign. lol I also still kind of enjoy mud puddles. lol Never quite grew out of that. :) So today I am very thankful for mud! Thanks for reading my blog.

Day 161: Smiles are contagious
Hi again,
I am thankful that smiles are contagious. This is something simple today-nothing too deep. I think that it's wonderful when I see someone smiling or laughing that I feel better and smile too. It is especially contagious when you see a baby laughing-how can you not smile when a baby smiles? A smile spreads across your face instantly right? It does with me. :)
Some quotes about smiling.
Give away your smiles freely and in abundance. Spread your laughter around as it's contagious.
-- Author Unknown
A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give.

Everyone smiles in the same language.

Every time you smile at someone, it is an action of love, a gift to that person, a beautiful thing.
-- Mother Teresa
Keep smiling - it makes people wonder what you've been up to.

Smiles are contagious-be a Carrier!
"A smile is like looking in the mirror. If you smile you're likely to get one back."
"What sunshine is to flowers, smiles are to humanity. They are trifles, to be sure; but, scattered along life's pathway, the good they do is inconceivable. Joseph Addison

- Smiling is contagious, you catch it like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today, I started smiling too.
I passed around the corner, and someone saw my grin
When he smiled I realized, I'd passed it on to him.
I thought about that smile, then I realized its worth,
A single smile, just like mine, could travel round the earth. - So, if you feel a smile begin, don't leave it undetected
Let's start an epidemic quick and get the world infected! - - Unknown
A smile is contagious, let’s see how far we can spread it.

Day 160: Birthday Rewards programs!!
Hello again,
This post is for yesterday because it was my birthday and I didn't get around to posting. lol
For this post I am so thankful for birthday rewards programs because it makes birthdays worth celebrating. lol A lot of businesses have birthday rewards now and it can range from free meals to desserts to discounts on many things. Personally I have signed up for free meals for Tony Romas and Alberts Restaurant, free dessert for Boston Pizza, Bogo blizzard coupon for Dairy Queen, and more. Apparently I am signed up for the Old Navy birthday program but I didn't recieve anything this year. I also signed up for the Marble Slab birthday program but too late to get something this year but will recieve something next year! Apparently Dennys has a birthday program as well but my sister has been the only one that has actually recieved a coupon from them so I am not sure what is up with that. lol This is only a sampling of places that offer freebies for your birthday and it is very worthwhile to check in to who offers something and what they offer. Also most of the birthday freebies are good for the week of your birthday so you don't have to use them all in one day. lol I eat well during my birthday week. lol Normally I can't afford to eat out so my birthday week is very very nice! So this is why I am thankful for birthday rewards programs!

Day 159: Limitations
Hi again,
This post is for 2 days ago because I was unable to post.
I am choosing to try to be thankful for my limitations. This one isn't easy for me because my limitations cause me so much frustration so often. My back is still so weak and I have limitations with lifting and how long I can sit up for and be out and about. My one year old nephew is getting heavier to a point that it is very difficult for me to lift him and it makes me very frustrated. I am mentioning this only to help you understand what I mean when I explain why I am thankful. My limitations remind me where I can improve because it isn't something that is permanent. They also help me to be thankful for stuff that I have trouble with (like lifting my nephew or other things that are too heavy currently) when I improve and can do it again. Before everything got really bad, I was very strong and I was so proud of that. Now after losing that strength, I can be thankful for that and when I gain it back I will be even more grateful for that ability. When I had to be in a wheel chair, it was a limitation that reminded me to be thankful for being able to walk. I find it easier to be thankful after I am no longer dealing with the limitation though. lol While I am unable to do something, it is very hard to be thankful but I am trying to look at it differently that I can become more aware of everything that I have. It also gives me a chance to improve and accomplish something because if I had no limitations then would I have anything to improve on? I think it also gives me the ability to build determination because I need that to improve and get past my limitations. So this is why I am thankful for limitations.

Day 157: Dental Floss
Hi again,
Today I am thankful for dental floss and the recent realization of all the uses it has. I am actually quite serious about this. First and formost I am thankful for dental floss for the reason it was created-to floss my teeth. I can't imagine life without dental floss for just this reason. Yet there are so many other uses for dental floss! I was surprised when my mom told me that you can use it for making jewelry and so I googled uses for dental floss and I was amazed! It is very strong and can therefore be used for stuff like hanging picture frames. It can also apparently be used to cut cheese, cakes and hard boiled eggs. Did you know that? I didn't. Supposedly it is also good to seperate photographs that are stuck together-I haven't tried this but it would be interesting to test this. This one site (http://www.gomestic.com/) states that you can use dental floss as an emergency shoe lace as well. As I mentioned earlier, dental floss can also be used for making jewelry. It can also be used to tie up poultry for cooking. There are many more uses for dental floss that I haven't mentioned but I will stop with this. I think what I have mentioned gives people a fairly good idea of how useful dental floss can be for stuff other than teeth! This makes me wonder if I should have some dental floss in the kitchen and car for emergencies! lol It may not be such a bad idea though. I am also thankful for the person who invented it even though I have no idea who did. I have never googled that before. Anyways this is why I am thankful for dental floss!
