Day 247: Kleenex/facial tissue

Hello again,
I wrote this post yesterday and it was supposed to be a post for Tuesday. The only thing is that when I clicked on publish post, something went wrong and I lost part of the post, it didn't post and I could not sign in to my blog again. Something was screwed up. So here is the post and I hope it publishes tonight. lol I also attempted to rewrite it the best I could. Thankfully it's a short post. lol

This post is for yesterday because I was unable to post. I have to admit that yesterday was a very bad day. But I am thankful for kleenex because I used alot of it and it is very useful. I call it kleenex but we don't buy kleenex brand. We usually buy what ever is cheapest. I am not even sure why I call all facial tissue kleenex but I do for some strange reason. lol Anyways I am thankful for it because I was thinking how people used to use hankerchiefs and would wash them and it grosses me out so much! ewww. Facial tissue is definitely one of those things that I am so glad for disposable! I don't like disposable for alot of things but there are a few items that I feel disposable is just better. kleenex...er... facial tissue does break down so I suppose it isn't so bad. I also imagine something that is single use would be better at preventing germs from spreading as well but maybe not. Anyways I appreciate that I don't have to use hankerchiefs and reuse something dirty. Maybe I am a bit weird but I like my facial tissue! This is why I am thankful for it.

Day 246: flashlights

Hello once again,
Today I am thankful for flashlights. As we get more into summer and get more thunderstorms, the chances increase that our power will go out and flashlights come in really handy then. This is why I am thinking about flashlights despite today being one of the few days we haven't seen any storms. lol I can not see well in the dark and I know most can't but I really can't. I am litterally blind as a bat and my eyes don't seem to adjust like other people's do. So I prefer to have a flashlight handy so that while I can't see anything, I don't have to bump into anything. lol So they keep me from getting hurt in the dark which is definitely something to be thankful for! :) Plus in the winter when it gets dark at like 4:30pm, it's handy to have flashlights if I have to go outside since I currently live out in the country where the only light (at night) is from the stars or the moon. When camping, it is good to have a flashlight to locate the bathroom also. :) This is why I am thankful for flashlights.

Day 245: Faster internet

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for faster internet. This past week my parents got faster internet which is great because before it was not fast enough to watch videos online with out major buffering. Being out of town, you are limited sometimes with choices for internet that is also affordable. So now when I use the internet, I can watch videos online on youtube or where ever and not worry about buffering anymore!!! It is weird and wonderful for sure. Websites also load much faster which is nice as well. So this is why I am thankful for faster internet.

Day 244: Rainbows

Hello again,
This post is for yesterday as I was still unable to post. But thankfully today I am able to catch up!
For this post I am thankful for rainbows. Recently I saw a beautiful rainbow after it had rained and I wish I saw many more than I do because they are so beautiful. This one was a bit faded already but it was still so beautiful none the less. I love the significance of rainbows as well how they come after a storm has passed and you know that it's over. Sometimes another storm is coming later but for that moment, you know that there is no more stormy weather.... the dark clouds are leaving. With so many storms being thunderstorms lately that can contain hail, a rainbow means I can breath easy again and my flowers will not get hurt. I always tense up during storms that look like they have hail because I don't want my flowers to be damaged. That may seem silly but with all the work I put into them, I don't want to see them destroyed. So rainbows are nice in that respect. So is weather radar. lol Because there can be more than one storm headed our way. Anyways this is why I am thankful for rainbows.

Day 243: Compliments

Hello again,
This post is for Friday as I was unable to post. My back was in really bad shape and I was unable to sit at the computer.
For this post I am thankful for compliments. Earlier this week, I recieved some great compliments from someone I know for my good eye with photography. I really appreciate compliments because it makes me feel good and it lets me know I have done something good. Too often people are quick to point out what we do wrong and slower to point out what we do right. So when I recieve compliments, I really appreciate them. Sometimes I feel I don't deserve them but I appreciate them none the less. They build self esteem as well. I try to remember to compliment people when ever they do good because I know how good it feels that someone notices good work or a job well done or talent/gifts that we have and use. This is why I am thankful for compliments

Day 242: warm summer evenings

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for warm summer evenings where you can go outside after supper and it isn't too hot or too cold. Tonight I went outside and it was such a nice evening and the sun was out for part of it. The birds were singing, and the frogs croaking away probably happy it is so wet. I don't think I have heard so many frogs before and it's neat. They make a great background noise while the birds sing their melodies. I love to go for walks on nights like this and take in all the sights and sounds around me. If I feel up to it, I will pull a few weeds as well which there is oddly always so many of. lol Tonight I was doing some light weeding and decided to just stop and close my eyes and feel the warm sun on my face and listen to the birds and the frogs. It was one of those moments that are so nice that I am so thankful for. I can put aside all the "stuff" I am dealing with for that moment and just enjoy my surroundings. These moments put a smile on my face as I recall them. This is why I am thankful for warm summer evenings.

Day 241: I can cut my own hair

Hello again,
Today I am thankful that I can cut my own hair and I don't need to pay someone to do it. I know that it may look better if someone professional did it but it costs money that I just don't have right now. I am also thankful that my mom was able to cut my hair growing up because it saves alot of money. I have learned how to cut my own hair by watching and learning and reading how to do it. I am proud of myself that I can now layer my own hair as well. :) Again it may not be salon quality but I think it comes close. I have wavy hair so if I don't cut it quite straight then it isn't as noticable so I am thankful for that as well. I also like that I can cut my own hair because I don't have to make an appointment to see someone. I just wash my hair, pull out the scissors and start clipping. Sometimes I don't quite think it through and cut it too short but the wonderful thing about hair is that it grows back! I also know what I want and I don't have to try explain to someone else what I want and possibly end up with something I don't want. There are many reasons to be thankful for the ability to cut my own hair! I also like having a mom who can help me out if I am having trouble cutting it. :) This is why I am thankful for being able to cut my own hair!

Day 240: Thunderstorms

Hello again,
I would like to apologize for not posting last night-I was actually preoccupied with thunderstorms. lol Wow yesterday was quite the day for thunderstorms. We had one in the afternoon that was rather severe which are the storms I don't like. We had nickle and dime size hail, heavy rain and very loud thunder. Amazingly the flowers were not really seriously damaged except for the irises! So I am so extremely thankful for that! Then last night we had another storm and it was quite the light show. It lasted for a very long time it seemed and I was watching the lightning streak across the sky. The thunderstorms I am thankful for are the ones with the distant rumbling thunder and no hail. I love being able to sit on the veranda during an afternoon thunderstorm (that isn't severe) and listen and watch the storm pass by. There is something so neat about them. I suppose the severe storms can be exciting as well where we hear the big cracks of thunder that shake the house. I don't know why that is exciting to me though so I really can't explain the appeal I guess. I recently discovered that thunderstorms don't happen in Los Angeles and thought that is sad and people are missing out because I think that thunderstorms are really neat. So I suppose that makes me thankful I live somewhere that thunderstorms are common. Thanks for reading my blog!

Day 239: Photo editing software

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for photo editing software. Let's face it, sometimes the picture isn't cropped far enough or there is a bug to photoshop off a flower... lol I like to leave photos as original as I can but sometimes I need to edit the photo and I love the photo editing software that makes it easy. I have Adobe Photoshop Elements right now mainly because it is the program my mom has and I use it as well. There are some instances where I enjoy getting creative with the photo after I have taken it and I love playing around on Adobe. There is so much my camera can do and so much Adobe can do as well. I find it much easier to turn a photo black and white in Adobe vs take it as black and white on the camera. It allows me much more freedom to do what I want with the photo I find. I love how I can "photoshop" photos. lol I was amazed how well I could delete an ant off a flower and you could not even really tell! Of course if you blow up the photo and look at it, there is definitely signs the photo was tampered with. lol But I have a hard time keeping bugs out of my photos and sometimes a shot would be perfect if it wasn't for the bug. Again, I keep my photos as close to original as possible but sometimes some editing is needed. I know there are many great programs out there and Adobe isn't the only one but I have not had the ability to experiment with different software yet. This is why I am thankful for photo editing software!

Day 238: Angry Birds game

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for angry birds. Yes I succombed to the curiosity to find out what is so much fun about the game. lol I think I have found a new past time to keep me occupied when I am not able to do much or waiting in a waiting room. It is fun and helps time fly by! Though time flying by can be not so good as well. I think about all the things my phone can do and I wish I had it when I was in the hospital after my surgeries and while recovering. My goodness there never would have been a dull moment. lol I didn't have my phone then but I do have it now so I am thankful for it as well. I got up to level 16 and had to stop because my phone was getting hot (one downside to my phone). The game is apparently educational as well. :) I can see that because you have to think about angles and what spot to hit the blocks to get the maximum effect. This game actually reminds me of a gorrilla game that I used to play on a computer with graphics no where near as good as the phone. lol You would figure out the angle and how hard to throw the banana to knock out gorrillas and you would have to get it around buildings in the way. The graphics were black and white and one dimensional but I thought it was cool and high tech at the time. lol Anyways I enjoy the angry birds game and it gives me something to do when I have nothing else to do which is usually in a waiting room for the doctor or having to rest my back. This is why I am thankful for the angry birds game. :)

Day 237: the rain isn't snow

Hello again,
Today I am thankful that the precipitation we are getting is falling as rain and not snow. It is weird during the winter I long for rain instead of snow and then it comes and I enjoy it for awhile but then start complaining. I have to continually remind myself that it is rain and not snow and it could be worse. On days like today where it only gets to +12 outside as a high, it doesn't seem so far fetched to think we could get easily get snow instead of rain. When I think about how cold it gets in the winter and all the snow that falls that we have to shovel, I become so much more thankful for rain. It becomes more pleasent although I still hate to see the plants unhappy with the amount of rain we recieve. I do still miss the sun as well but I am thankful it isn't snow! When I think about the rain in a different way, it is easier to be thankful for it. :) I need to enjoy the rain while we have it or I might go crazy. As for the amount of rain we are getting, I am not sure how to be thankful for that. lol I have been thinking there has to be a use for all the rain we have and there has to be something positive about it. I just can not place my finger on it just yet. I will let you know if I come up with anything. :) I also love the sound of rain which you don't get with snow. I find the pitter patter of rain against the window and roof is soothing. So this is why I am thankful the rain isn't snow.

Day 236: wildflowers

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for wildflowers. I am talking about the kind that are not super invasive and are really pretty. Some wildflowers are really actually weeds but I am thankful for the kind that aren't. Being out in the country, sometimes we discover wildflowers and we move them if we need to so we can keep them alive instead of hoeing through them. I love going to the mountains because of all the gorgous wildflowers growing up there where they are not disturbed and able to grow freely. It is so beautiful. There is something about them that makes them so pretty. Anyways that is why I love wildflowers and I am thankful for them. I hope you all have a great weekend. :)

Apology for my absense

Hello again,
I have not posted for almost a week and I apologize. My family and I went through a very difficult time which was incredibly hard for me to handle and process and I hope you understand that I could not bring myself to post on here during that time. It has nothing to do with the kittens dying that I posted about in my second last post, which was difficult but nothing compared to the weekend's events. I am trying to be as open as I feel comfortable to be and this is all I can share on the subject currently. I found it next to impossible to see much good in anything during the past week. I personally wonder if anyone really noticed that I haven't posted on here because (according to the stats on my blog) not many people read this. I want to say thank you to the people who have stuck with me and read some or all the posts I have written. Thank you. I am not sure if I should play catch up and post 7 blessings or just pick up where I left off. I suppose with this blog I am making my own rules as I go and when I started I didn't anticipate taking a week off like this so maybe I should just decide what I want to do. life sometimes throws curveballs that we don't see coming so we have to adjust things as we go. So I think I will just pick up where I left off and today is day 236 instead of last Sunday. I am only human and some days it seems impossible to find anything good to be thankful for. I am sure that good will come from this experience but I have yet to figure out what that is. Until then, I would like to apologize for my absense, thank you for continuing to read my blog and hopefully understanding my reasons for not posting this week.

Day 235: our fruit trees

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for our fruit trees. We have cherry, honeyberry/haskap, blueberry, saskatoon and apple trees. Then we also have a current bush and strawberry plants. We love fruit. lol I am thankful for them because fruit fresh right off the tree/bush is so much better than what you can buy in the store. It is also cheaper to grow your own than to buy it in the store. There is the initial investment into each tree but they more than pay for themselves in a few years. The only drawback to having our own fruit trees is that sometimes bad weather destroys the fruit. Our honeyberry trees are finally getting to a size where we have a ton of fruit on each bush and we are getting good at getting to the fruit before the birds too! lol The birds are thankful for our fruit trees too. lol We have a new crop of Honeyberry trees that are starting to produce fruit as well so it should be less of a problem if the birds munch on a few. :) I love fresh fruit. You can't get fruit any fresher than if you grow it yourself. So this is why I am thankful for fresh fruit.

Day 234: to have loved and lost...

Hello again,
Today I am thankful to have loved and lost than not loved at all... at least in terms of animals. Today we had to bring the kittens to the vet because they were sick. It turned out they had distemper and they needed to be euthenized. While it is very painful for me right now, I know that I am thankful to have known and loved the kittens during their very short stay here with us even though it means pain from losing them. During their time with us, they made me smile and when they purred while I held them, it was so sweet. I wish they had not been sick and they had been healthy and would have lived very long lives but that wasn't to be. I am litterally in tears right now because I miss them but I have good memories to hold on to from the moments that they were not so sick and they tried to snuggle in my hands. The black kitten really liked to slip it's head under my mom's sleeve and then it was happy and comfy. It was so adorable. The calico kitten liked to climb up to my shoulder and snuggle next to my neck and purr away. The two orange kittens were often laying together and it was so cute. The grey kitten was smart when we put a dish with food and water and he was lapping it up while the others walked through it. They were adorable when they all curled up together in a heap. These are good memories that make me smile and I will hold on to them forever.
I want to take a moment to ask that people keep their pets shots up to date to help keep distemper and other viruses and diseases from spreading and avoid losing animals like I had to go through. These kittens may have come from a stray cat but stray cats can spread it easily to our pets even if we don't let them outside-accidents happen. Also please remember to spay and neuter so that there are fewer unwanted animals who end up becoming strays. It isn't fair to them to have no one to love them or want them and then suffer because they catch disease. I just wanted to stress these things because they are very important. Thanks for bearing with me as I mention these things.

Day 233: microwaves

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for microwaves. They are so amazing really and I can't imagine life without them. I know they haven't been around terribly long in terms of decades but I have had access to them all my life. I still can't imagine life without them. We use our microwave so often for so many things. Right now I am thinking about it so much because I am having to warm up kitten formula to feed the kittens and it is so nice and handy to pop in the microwave instead of having to heat it on the stove or something. Microwaves are also great for heating leftovers, cooking food and reheating tea that people accidentally forget about. :)

Day 232: Crows

Hello again,
This is definitely something that seems unlikely to be thankful for but I am thankful for crows! I noticed that crows eat the dew worms!!!! Dew worms are such a problem in our lawn and seeing the crows eat the dew worms make me sooooo thankful for them!!! I almost wanted to hug the crow! I have seen them scratching at ant hills too and eat the ants. They sound awful at times but if they are going to be around either way and they will eat the dew worms-I am totally thankful for them! They are apparently very smart birds too. It can be amusing to watch them together sometimes and I wonder what they are saying to each other. lol I am changing my opinion of crows as I learn more about them. I wish they sounded more pleasant and would not scare other birds away but they are who they are right? I think they are here to stay and we still have other birds here as well so it isn't so bad. So today I am thankful for crows. :)

Day 231: We found the kittens!!!

Hello again,
I did not post yesterday because we sort of had our hands full and I was exhausted. Let me explain why. A pregnant feral cat showed up awhile back and we could never get close enough to even get a close look at her. All we knew was the she had a huge belly and then we noticed she had her kittens at some point because recently she was much thinner. On the weekend we found her dead and it was so sad because we knew she had kittens hidden somewhere. They always hide their kittens so well so we knew the likelyhood of finding them. Yet we hoped to find them somehow. Last night we found them!!! We found all 5 alive!!! We are so happy we found them and they are alive. I am so thankful we found them alive. I am thankful we found them at all. It seems the odds were against them but they survived long enough for us to find them. I am so thankful for that. :) I hope they all survive. But I am thankful for finding the kittens and that they are alive.

Day 230: the garden sprouting

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for the garden beginning to sprout! I saw the first beans and carrots have come up and it is wonderful to see. Still a ways away from having fresh beans and carrots but it is much closer now than it was a month ago! The seeds were not even planted yet a month ago. lol I always get excited seeing the vegetable seeds starting to sprout because I love fresh vegetables and it is sooo much fresher than anything you can ever get in the grocery store. Plus we know what has come in contact with the plants in terms of fertilizer and what not. We don't use fertilizer so that is an easy one. lol My mouth is already beginning to water at the thought of all the fresh veggies that we will hopefully get. lol I say hopefully because sometimes weather happens and we lose our garden. Last year almost all of our potatoes drowned (too much rain made the ground soupy and potatoes don't like that) and rotted and we had to buy potatoes. So I am cautiously optimistic I suppose but seeing the garden sprouting is exciting. I am thankful that we can have our own garden as well to grow our own food. It saves alot of money to grow our own food. Seeing the garden sprout reminds me of all the good food that we get from it. I am so thankful for that. :)

Day 229: a cool breeze

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for a cool breeze. This isn't necessarily something I am thankful for today but something I am thankful for on any nice summer days where it is really warm and a cool breeze is nice. There is something so refreshing about a cool breeze on a hot day. It was nice and sunny and warm this afternoon and the wind picked up a bit so it was nice and cool. It wasn't too hot but just nice. I know there will be days that will be hotter than today (at least I hope so lol) and a cool breeze will be much more welcome on those days but today it was nice as well. So I felt like posting about it today. :) It seems like so long ago that something cool would be welcome because it has been so cold but it is starting to get warm again thankfully. I have to admit that my mind is elsewhere and it is challenging to write tonight so I will leave it at this. I hope everyone had a great weekend and has a great week. Thanks for reading my blog.

Two farmers were boasting about the strongest wind they’d ever experienced. “Out here in California,” said one, “I’ve seen the fiercest wind in my life. You know those giant redwood trees? Well the wind got so strong it bent them right over.”
“That’s nothing,” said the farmer from Iowa. “Back on my farm we had a wind one day that blew a hundred miles per hour. It was so bad that one of my hens had her back turned to the wind and she laid the same egg six times.” JOE LAURIE, JR.

Day 228: Radios

Hello again,
This post is for yesterday. Today I am thankful for radios. One reason I love radio is that sometimes you hear a song that you absolutely love and you can go buy the cd knowing it is good. I don't like to buy music that I don't know what it sounds like because if I don't like it then I have wasted my money. Another reason that I love radio is that I can hear a variety of music that I don't own because I could never afford a music library as extensive as a radio station's library. On some stations there are programs like Focus on the Family that I love to listen to as well. Yet another reason I have loved the radio in the past (and still do to a point) was being able to keep up to date with news because they have news every 1/2hr. The reason I don't so much anymore is twitter keeps me more up to date on news and weather now. Anyways this is why I am thankful for radio.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A lady bought a new $100,000 Mercedes and proudly drove it off the showroom floor to take home. Halfway home, she attempted to change radio stations and saw that there appeared to be only one station. She immediately turned around and headed back to the dealer.

Once at the dealer, she found her salesman and began to excitedly explain that her radio was not working, and they must replace it since she only had one radio station. The salesman calmed her down and told her that her car radio was voice-activated, and that she would only need to state aloud the type of music that she wanted and the car would find it.

She got into the car and started the engine and then said the word "country," and the radio changed to a station playing a George Strait song. She was satisfied and started home. After a while she decided to try out the radio and said "rock 'n' roll;" the radio station changed and a song by the Rolling Stones came from the speakers. Quite pleased, the woman continued driving.

A few blocks from her house, another driver ran a light causing her to slam on her brakes to avoid a collision. The woman angrily exclaimed, "Idiot!"

...The radio cut over to George Bush's press conference

Day 227: Cherry blossoms

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for the cherry blossoms which are so beautiful. We have cherry trees and they are all full of blossoms right now and just gorgous. I absolutely love them as well as the apple tree blossoms because they are so pretty. I am sure they smell wonderful as well but I can't smell. I love to take photos of them as well and maybe I can post a few photos on here if I get a chance. Today is a possibly a sad day though because snow is in the forcast tonight which could kill the blossoms. But I am thankful for them and for having the chance to enjoy them for what ever time I can. I just hope they don't die because then they won't produce cherries which would be really sad. I love watching the bees buzzing happily around the cherry trees-they must love cherry trees with so many flowers to visit! I thought about posting this today because I spent the past couple days taking photos of the cherry blossoms so they are obviously on my mind. :) I can't let cherry trees get all the attention though-apple trees in full bloom are an amazing sight as well. :) If you have never seen a fruit tree in full bloom, you are missing out. Other trees that get covered in flowers at our place are the saskatoon trees and honeyberry bushes. They are so beautiful as well. This is why I am thankful for cherry blossoms.

Cherry Jokes
Knowing that the Priest was very fond of cherry brandy, one of the church elders offered to present him with a bottle on one consideration: that the pastor acknowledge receipt of the gift in the church newspaper.
"Gladly," responded the good man.
When the church magazine came out a few days later, the elder turned at once to the "appreciation" column.
There he read, "The minister extends his thanks to Elder Lewis for his gift of fruit and for the spirit in which it was given."

Day 226: Getting stronger

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for getting stronger. I have been recovering from back surgery for what seems like forever now and I am slowly getting stronger each day. It is not as noticable from day to day but when I look back a month or a year, I can see a difference. Today I was doing some stuff outside and noticed that it is easier to lift certain items than it was last summer. I am always working on gaining back my strength and it is always rewarding to notice that I am indeed getting stronger even if it is taking longer than I would like. It is interesting to me how the same item can feel so much lighter than it did last summer. It doesn't seem like the same thing-like I was lifting a different one full of lead last summer. I wonder if someone playing practical jokes on me? lol Anyways as I get stronger I am gaining more independance and I don't have to rely quite so heavily on my family to help me out. I am so incredibly thankful for that! This is why I am really thankful for getting stronger. :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A joke about strength. It doesn't really relate to my post other than it talks about strength. :)
The Hikers
One day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so.
Joe prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.
Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times.
Bob had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this river."
Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.

Day 225: Meeting new friends

Hello again,
This post is for yesterday and I am thankful for meeting new friends. :) I am part of this amazing website called Smart Canucks and on this site I have "met" some amazing people. Most of them I only know online but a few I have got to meet in person. It is kind of neet to meet friends you have made online and yesterday I got to meet another friend. It was fun meeting her especially since she is from Ontario and I didn't know if I would ever actually get to meet her in person. I think we got along as well in person as we do online so that was nice. :) I am thankful for the chance to meet her and for the good time we had together. It was neat meeting her also because it was like I already knew her from talking online so much. It is so nice to be able to put a face and voice to a name. :) So this is why I am thankful for meeting new friends.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Here is a funny joke that kind of relates to the topic of friends that I wanted to add in somehow. :)

Paul and his best friend were coming out of church one day, and the preacher was standing at the door as he always is to shake hands. He grabbed his friend by the hand and pulled him aside.

The Pastor said to him, "You need to join the Army of the Lord!"

Paul's friend replied, "I'm already in the Army of the Lord, Pastor."

Pastor questioned, "How come I don't see you except at Christmas and Easter?"

He whispered back, "I'm in the secret service."

Day 224: Jokes

Hello again,
I first need to apologize once again for my absense. I got really sick on Tuesday and yesterday was quite a long day. I am not trying to make excuses but just explaining my absense.
This post is for Tuesday and I have to admit that it was difficult to think of blessings while I was feeling miserable. But I have noticed even on days like that, there are blessings to be thankful for. As for blessings I haven't mentioned yet, well that is slightly more difficult. So that is why I decided to post about being thankful for jokes. I don't think we could live in a world without jokes-it seems natural for people to make jokes. But just because it is something that we could never possibly be without, doesn't mean I can't be thankful for it. Jokes are great because they make people laugh. I love practical jokes as long as no one is hurt and they are not too mean. I love jokes like knock knock jokes, especially when kids come up with them and it is cute whether it makes sense or not. lol I love jokes all around because they make people laugh and laughter is so good. Below I am going to add a few jokes that I love and I hope they make you smile!

A definite favorite of mine!

A Minnesota couple decided to vacation to Florida during the winter. They planned to stay at the very same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier. Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the husband left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday. His wife would fly down the following day.
The husband checked into the hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.
Meanwhile.....somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years who was called home to glory following a sudden heart attack. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she fainted.
The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:
To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived
Date: 16 May 2003
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send e-mails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is not as uneventful as mine was.
P.S. Sure is hot down here!

TEACHER: George, go to the map and find North America.
GEORGE: Here it is!
TEACHER: Correct. Now, class, who discovered America?
CLASS: George!

A new pastor was visiting the homes of his parishioners.

At one house it seemed obvious that someone was at home, but no answer came to his repeated knocks at the door. Therefore, he took out a card and wrote "Revelation 3:20" on the back of it and stuck it in the door.

When the offering was processed the following Sunday, he found that his card had been returned. Added to it was this cryptic message, Genesis 3:10."

Reaching for his Bible to check out the citation, he broke up in gales of laughter.

Revelation 3:20 begins "Behold, I stand at the door and knock." Genesis 3:10 reads, "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid, for I was naked."

If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?

This is the true story of George Phillips of Meridian, Mississippi, who was going to bed when his wife told him that he'd left the light on in the shed. George opened the door to go turn off the light but saw there were people in the shed in the process of stealing things.

He immediately phoned the police, who asked "Is someone in your house?" and George said no and explained the situation. Then they explained that all patrols were busy, and that he should simply lock his door and an officer would be there when available.

George said, "Okay," hung up, counted to 30, and phoned the police again.

"Hello, I just called you a few seconds ago because there were people in my shed. Well, you don't have to worry about them now because I've just shot them all."

Then he hung up. Within five minutes three squad cars, an Armed Response unit, and an ambulance showed up. Of course, the police caught the burglars red-handed.

One of the policemen said to George: "I thought you said that you'd shot them!"

George said, "I thought you said there was nobody available!"
