Day 226: Getting stronger

Hello again,
Today I am thankful for getting stronger. I have been recovering from back surgery for what seems like forever now and I am slowly getting stronger each day. It is not as noticable from day to day but when I look back a month or a year, I can see a difference. Today I was doing some stuff outside and noticed that it is easier to lift certain items than it was last summer. I am always working on gaining back my strength and it is always rewarding to notice that I am indeed getting stronger even if it is taking longer than I would like. It is interesting to me how the same item can feel so much lighter than it did last summer. It doesn't seem like the same thing-like I was lifting a different one full of lead last summer. I wonder if someone playing practical jokes on me? lol Anyways as I get stronger I am gaining more independance and I don't have to rely quite so heavily on my family to help me out. I am so incredibly thankful for that! This is why I am really thankful for getting stronger. :)

A joke about strength. It doesn't really relate to my post other than it talks about strength. :)
The Hikers
One day, Joe, Bob and Dave were hiking in a wilderness area when they came upon a large, raging, violent river. They needed to get to the other side, but had no idea of how to do so.
Joe prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him big arms and strong legs, and he was able to swim across the river in about two hours, although he almost drowned a couple of times.
Seeing this, Dave prayed to God, saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools to cross this river."
Poof! God gave him a rowboat and he was able to row across the river in about an hour, after almost capsizing the boat a couple of times.
Bob had seen how this worked out for the other two, so he also prayed to God saying, "Please God, give me the strength and the tools, and the intelligence, to cross this river."
Poof! God turned him into a woman. She looked at the map, hiked upstream a couple of hundred yards, then walked across the bridge.
