Day 194: Butterflies

Hello again,
This post is actually for Sunday which I missed posting. It was more of an oops because I forgot to. I meant to post and I had it picked out already early in the day but somehow it slipped my mind that night. So here is the post I intended to write on Sunday. :)
For this post I am thankful for butterflies. As you may have guessed, it is indeed inspired by seeing the first butterfly of this spring. Yet I am not thankful for butterflies just because I saw the first one of this year on Sunday. There is more to be thankful for about these wonderful insects. First off, they are absolutely beautiful to watch with their colourful wings and the way they move from flower to flower. I can not imagine a garden without the beautiful butterflies fluttering about and would be very sad if we had none in our garden. They seem so dainty as well to me. But Butterflies bring more to our gardens than just beauty. They are also very useful because they help pollinate flowers while they drink their nectar. They help the bees with this very important job which is great! If we had no insects to pollinate our flowers, then we would have no food or seeds because they require pollination to produce it. We could do it by hand but when I think about a huge field and attempting to pollinate it by hand.... I become so much more grateful for the bees and the butterflies and who ever else helps pollinate flowers!!! It would take forever to do. So with the butterfly's beauty and usefulness, I think it is very clear why I am thankful for them!
