Day 63: The Shortest Day of the year

Hi again,
I suppose I am not thankful so much for the shortest day of the year as I am the fact that it means that the days start getting longer again. Today we only have 7 1/2hrs roughly of daylight and thankfully the days don't get any shorter than that here. Of course the further north one travels, the less daylight there is on the shortest day. Then if you travel to the arctic-there is no daylight at all. So when you think about that, 7 1/2hrs of daylight doesn't seem so bad right? lol I am also thankful that we have sunshine today and it isn't cloudy because then it is more difficult to take. When we already have so few precious hours of daylight, it isn't fun to have the sunshine blocked by clouds. So having the sun out today has been wonderful. Now we can look forward to the days getting longer again until we get to the longest day which has 17hrs of daylight!!! The weatherman Josh Classen on CTV news shared these stats on the noon news today and I couldn't believe how much difference there is between the shortest and longest day! No wonder it feels like we don't have much daylight because we really don't compared to the longest day. Anyways this is why I am thankful for the Shortest day of the year. :) Thanks for reading my blog and have a great Christmas!!!
